Forward of the American MLS club Inter Miami and the national team of Argentina, world champion of 2022 Lionel Messi answered the question of TyC Sports, whether he is going to finish his professional career in the future.

Recall that on August 19, the 36-year-old striker won the MLS League Cup + MX, defeating Nashville in the final (1-1 in regular time, 10-9 in a penalty shootout) with his Florida club. Messi scored in the 23rd minute of the game, and was the first among his teammates to convert a penalty kick.

Thus, Inter Miami won the League Cup for the first time in its history, and Messi became the most decorated player in the history of football, surpassing his former Barcelona teammate defender Dani Alves in the number of trophies.

I’m not thinking about it (retirement) yet, to be honest. I like to play, I enjoy being with a ball on the field, competing, training. I don’t know how much more I’ll play, but I’ll try to take advantage until I can, until I’m well and then I’ll see. For later there is time to think, to analyze and choose. Today the most important thing is to enjoy what’s left, whatever it is, it can be little or a lot.

The star Argentine moved to the MLS team in the summer transfer window from PSG. Messi scored ten goals and made one assist in his first seven matches with the new team. The forward's contract with Inter Miami runs until the end of June 2025.
