Tusker FC striker Ryan Ogam wants to win the Kenyan Premier League golden boot this season, and has set his sights on scoring more than 20 goals. Ogam is the current joint top scorer of the league, with five goals after seven rounds of matches.
Ogam has however played three matches less as he had been ruled out with injury. With the international break, the youngster found enough time to fully recover from injury, and as the season resumes this weekend, has his eyes on the prize.
Speaking exclusively to Telecomasia.net, Ogam says he is motivated to go for the top prize.
At the start of the season, there are targets I set for myself and things I wanted to achieve at the end of the season. As a striker, you want to be at the top and my target is to become the top scorer this season. I feel I have started well, only that I was slowed down by injury. But I feel strong and very much fit and looking forward to the rest of the campaign. I want to get to 10 goals by the end of the first leg and this will be a good step to achieve the golden boot.
Ryan Ogam told Telecomasia.net.
He admits that the period he has been out with injury has been tough, but credits the support he has received from his father, who is a former footballer. He believes he is mentally and physically well endowed to battle for the rest of the first leg matches to achieve his 10-goal target.
