Hussein Mohammed, the vice chairman of FKF Premier League side Murang’a Seal, has officially announced his candidacy for the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) presidency. With the elections scheduled for later this year, Mohammed is set to challenge incumbent Nick Mwendwa.

In an interview with Telecomasia.net following his announcement, Mohammed outlined his vision to elevate Kenyan football. He believes he has a comprehensive plan to transform the sport, both nationally and internationally.

Currently, Kenyan football relies heavily on passion alone. Our team has developed a strategy focused on commercialization and ensuring players receive the respect they deserve. Our goal is to enhance the league's profile not just within the country but across the continent and beyond,

As the CEO of Extreme Sports, Mohammed emphasized that his manifesto prioritizes investment in grassroots youth programs.

“There has been too much focus on the Premier League and national teams, overshadowing the crucial grassroots level. I intend to improve infrastructure and put significant effort into advancing women’s football as well.
