Manchester City's manager Pep Guardiola, has referred to his player Rodri as the best midfielder in world football at the present time.
The midfielder has been playing for the Citizens since 2019, winning three Premier League titles and the Champions League. With Rodri on the team, Manchester City has not lost a match since February 2023.
Guardiola told AS:
Rodri always has the ability in important moments to score goals so he’s an unbelievable player. He’s the best midfield player in the world currently by far because he is able to do everything. What a signing. It’s difficult to understand how we could have done what we have done in recent years without him.
Earlier, Rodri admitted that he almost cried after an injury in the 2023 Club World Cup final. Rio Ferdinand called the Spanish midfielder the most important player among all Premier League teams.
