Manchester City's head coach Pep Guardiola commented on the outcome of the draw for the quarter-finals of the 2023/2024 UEFA Champions League, in which the Citizens were drawn against Real Madrid.
The matches will take place on April 9 and 16. The two clubs are meeting on the way to the final of the top European competition for the fourth time in the last five years. Real and Manchester City have been winners in the last two seasons of the Champions League.
City Xtra quoted the specialist as saying:
It looks like a little bit of a tradition, three years in a row playing the kings of the competition. Hopefully we can arrive in a good moment but there are still a few weeks before the first game in Madrid.
Pep Guardiola
Earlier, Guardiola named Real and Bayern as the main competitors in the Champions League. The Spaniard also thanked the City leadership for the time provided to win the top European trophy.
