Josep Guardiola, who leads England's Manchester City, has become the first coach in history to win the Club World Cup trophy with three different teams.
On Friday, December 22, the Citizens defeated Brazilian Fluminense 4-0 in the final to win the Club World Cup for the first time in history. The trophy was the fifth for Manchester City in the 2023 calendar year.
Previously, Guardiola also won the Club World Cup in 2009 as head coach of Barcelona and in 2013 with Bayern. Note that the 52-year-old Spanish specialist is second among coaches in history in terms of the number of trophies - 37. Pep is second only to the legendary mentor of Manchester United Alex Ferguson, who has 49 awards in his collection.
After winning the final of the 2023 FIFA World Cup, Guardiola described the past year as an amazing one for Manchester City.
