Manchester City's head coach Pep Guardiola spoke about the championship race in the English Premier League (EPL), saying that he expected a decline from the team after winning the treble last season.
Guardiola said to beIN Sports:
We know if we draw or lose a game, it’s over. We know every game what we have to do. I’ll be honest — I could not expect this season to be in this position after winning the treble last season. I thought they would drop but the consistency, it has been the complete opposite.
At the moment, Manchester City leads the English league table with 85 points. Second-placed Arsenal is two points behind Guardiola's team.
It should be noted that City will become champions if they defeat Tottenham and West Ham in the final matches of the English league.
Earlier, Guardiola was nominated for the best coach of the season award in the EPL.
