In the opening match of Euro 2024, the German national team defeated Scotland with a big score (5:1). The meeting was held in Munich at the Allianz Arena stadium.

In the 10th minute, German midfielder Florian Wirtz scored the first goal of the tournament. Nine minutes after Wirtz, Jamal Musiala made the score 2-0. In the first minute of the first half, Germany forward Kai Havertz scored his team's third goal, converting an 11-metre penalty kick.
In the 68th minute, forward Niklas Füllkrug scored the hosts' fourth goal. In the 87th minute, Germany defender Antonio Rüdiger scored an own goal, making the score 4-1. Emre Can received a pass from Muller on the penalty area and hit the ball into the bottom right corner - 5:1.
