Former Manchester United and England defender, now TV pundit Gary Neville, has commented on the penalty awarded to the Netherlands in their match against England in the Euro 2024 semi-final (1-2).
Neville told TNT Sports:
As a defender, I think it's an absolutely disgraceful decision.
In the 18th minute of the game, German referee Felix Zwayer awarded a penalty to the Netherlands after reviewing the video replay for a foul by Denzel Dumfries on England forward Harry Kane. It is worth noting that the English striker successfully converted the penalty kick.
In the Euro 2024 final, England will face Spain. The match will take place on July 14th in Berlin, with kick-off at 22:00 GMT+3.
Legendary Dutch footballer Pierre van Hooijdonk has called for referee Felix Zwayer, who awarded the penalty for the foul on Harry Kane in the Euro 2024 semi-final, to be placed on a blacklist.
