An incident happened on board of the Gambia national football team's plane to Cote d'Ivoire for the Africa Cup of Nations. Several athletes lost consciousness due to lack of oxygen on board.
Journalist Sane Malang reports on social networks that the cause of the incident was the small size of the aircraft carrying the entire national team.
The plane was forced to turn around and land at the Gambian airport. It is also reported that two players are still in a state of shock.
As you may recall, the Africa Cup of Nations starts January 13 to February 11, the national team of Gambia will play in Group C, where they will meet the national teams of Guinea, Cameroon and Senegal.
