The Dutch national team defeated Senegal in the first match of the group stage of the 2022 World Cup, which took place on November 21 and ended with a score of 2-0.
The score in the match could have been opened in the middle of the first half. Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong failed to send the ball into an empty net for Senegal, avoiding the goalkeeper and defenders of the team. At the same time, the Senegalese team had one shot at the opponent's goal - the Netherlands didn't have accurate shots in the first half.
The score opened towards the end of the second half. In the 84th minute, forward Cody Gakpo took advantage of an unfortunate exit of Senegal goalkeeper Mendy. Davy Klaassen ended the game with another goal.
