Foot Mercato reports that FIFA may disqualify the French youth national football team from the 2023 FIFA Under-17 World Cup because of Montpellier striker Yanis Issoufou.
The matter is that the forward played in the national team of Niger during the World Cup qualifying. According to FIFA regulations, a player cannot play for two different teams in one competition.
The French team has already removed Issoufou from the application for the round of 16 match against Senegal, which is held today, November 22 at 16:00 GMT+3.
France finished the group stage in first place in Group E with nine points from three rounds. In the quarterfinals, the winner of the pair France vs Senegal will meet the national team of Uzbekistan, which sensationally defeated England (2:1) in the round of 16.
