French League To Be Renamed To Ligue 1 McDonald's Starting Next Season

The fast-food chain McDonald's has acquired the naming rights for the French football league - Ligue 1. Starting from the next season, the country's championship will be known as Ligue 1 McDonalds.

RMC Sport reports that the company has committed to paying the league 20 million euros per year for changing the name.

In the 2023/24 season, Paris Saint-Germain maintains the top spot in the country's league. The team has gathered 55 points after 24 matches.

Earlier, Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo of Saudi club Al-Nassr stated that the Saudi Arabian championship surpasses Ligue 1 in quality. Former Chelsea player Frank Leboeuf told the forward to "shut up".
