The French Professional Football League (LFP) officially confirmed on March 21 a title sponsorship deal with McDonald's. Starting from the 2024/2025 season, the tournament will be known as McDonald's Ligue 1.

The agreement is set to last for three years. Previously, the league had been sponsored by the American company Uber Eats for several seasons.

It was reported on March 5 by RMC Sport that the international fast food chain had purchased the naming rights for the French football championship. The league is said to receive €20 million per year from the company.

After 26 rounds of the 2023/2024 Ligue 1 season, Paris Saint-Germain leads the table with 59 points. Brest sits in second place with 47 points, while Monaco rounds out the top three with 46 points.
