The French Football Federation (FFF) condemned the racist song sung by Argentina players after the victory over Colombia in the final of the America's Cup 2024 (1-0). Earlier, French media reported on these intentions.
In a live broadcast on the social network of midfielder Enzo Fernandez, the Argentines sang: “Playing for France, but they are all from Angola”.
FFF President Philippe Diallo expressed strong condemnation of these racist and discriminatory statements directed at the players of the French national team. He noted that these statements are against sporting values and human rights.
The FFF said in a statement on its website:
Given the seriousness of these shocking remarks, which are contrary to the values of sport and human rights, the FFF president has decided to contact its Argentinian counterpart and FIFA directly to file a legal complaint for racist and discriminatory remarks.
The song was invented by Argentine fans before the final match of the World Cup in Qatar, where their team met the French (3-3, 4-2 - on penalties).
