Former head coach of Spain Luis Enrique has commented on his team's exit from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and shared his opinion that the national team showed a good performance at the tournament.

The Spanish national team finished their performance in the tournament on December 8 at the round of 16 stage, having lost in the penalty shoot-out to Morocco (0-0, 0-3 on penalties). On the same day, the official website of the national team announced the 52-year-old's resignation.

I look at the semifinalists and I don't see anyone better than us. I think we missed a great opportunity at this tournament. Except for those 12 minutes with Japan at the beginning of the second half, I think we showed a good level and then we had difficulties with Morocco. I take maximum responsibility for the result and I will take things positively.
