De Telegraaf reported that Spartak striker Quincy Promes has been sentenced by an Amsterdam court to six years in prison in the Netherlands for cocaine smuggling.

The prosecutor's office had requested nine years in prison for the 32-year-old striker for smuggling two shipments of the drug of 1362 kilograms, which were intercepted by the police in the port of Antwerp, Belgium, in 2020. According to the court, the Spartak Moscow striker played a "decisive role" in the trafficking of the banned substances.

Earlier, the court ordered Promes to compensate damages to his brother for stabbing him. Lawyer Vladimir Gusev in a comment to Telecomasia.net said that as long as Promes lives in Russia, he will not be affected by the decisions of the Dutch court.
