Former Manchester United player Andrei Kanchelskis shared his thoughts with Telecomasia.net on the performance of the Red Devils under coach Erik ten Hag, as well as when it might be time to part ways with the Dutch manager.
– What’s happening at United now is a catastrophe. Last season I said that ten Hag should be fired. The club is currently run by Americans. They have no respect for the game, their focus is solely on business. When the club was owned by the Irish, it was different. We could see the results. It would be inappropriate and disgraceful to dismiss ten Hag right now. He should be allowed to finish the season. After this season, they’ll need to say “Goodbye, thank you very much for the lousy job”.
– Are the owners to blame for the team’s failures?
– The owners aren’t the ones training the team; that’s ten Hag’s job. The owners have different objectives. I can only say that since the Americans took over, Manchester United have died. At least for the time being. Do you really think the Americans care about the team? Not in the least!
The 54-year-old ten Hag has been at the helm of Manchester United since June 2022. As of now, the Manchester club is in 14th place in the Premier League table, having secured only eight points after seven matches this season.
