Former Czech Republic and Manchester United player Karel Poborsky has criticized the play of Portuguese player Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of the Euro 2024 face-off.
Poborsky said to CTK:
I have been saying for a long time that he will be one of Portugal’s weakest elements if he starts. The fans of both teams will go crazy for him. But, at his age, he’s not that good at building the game or pressing. This is why I prefer him to start.
Poborsky acknowledged Ronaldo's achievements due to his confidence but pointed out that age is something that cannot be deceived, and at 39, it's quite challenging to show a high level.
The match between the Czech Republic and Portugal in the first round of Group F will take place today, June 18 and will kick off at 22:00 GMT+3.
According to Relevo, Saudi Al-Nassr striker and Portuguese national team player Cristiano Ronaldo wants to continue performing for his national team, including the 2026 World Cup.
