Former Italian national team forward and Real Madrid player Antonio Cassano shared how Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo reacted to Cassano's criticism.
Cassano said during the BSMT podcast:
I said Ronaldo is No1, the Brazilian. Cristiano Ronaldo doesn’t make my top five, or even top ten, because for me the quality of a player is another thing. Then he sends me a voice note, telling me, 'You disrespected me, don’t do anything like that again. You only scored 150 goals, you only won four trophies.' So I answer him. I say, ‘Dear Cristiano, listen to me. You think I disrespected you, I just don’t like you as a player. What’s the problem?’ He went to the trouble of messaging me, imagine.
The 39-year-old Ronaldo is a five-time Ballon d'Or winner, a five-time Champions League champion, a European champion, and a Nations League winner.
Currently, he plays for Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr, where he has participated in 73 matches, scored 66 goals, and provided 18 assists. Ronaldo's contract with the club runs until the end of June 2025, with a transfer market value estimated at €15 million.
Ronaldo also made history as the first player ever to score in 600 top-level matches during his career. In related news, the forward has begun negotiations to extend his contract with the Saudi Arabian club.
