Former Arsenal player Alexander Hleb has assessed the Gunners' chances against Manchester City for first place in the English league after the 2022/23 season.

The EPL is very unpredictable, you can lose points against anyone. You can't say Arsenal let their guard down, but they lacked something at the end. Man City have become so strong that it's hard to stop them. It's going to be difficult now, everything is on the line, but with a bit of luck it's possible. The last games will decide everything, we have to wait for the Citizens to make a mistake and get our points.

"Manchester City are a very experienced and stable team. It happens in England, you have to be mentally ready and get the maximum out of every game, get your three points. I don't think that Arsenal have gotten soft, it's just that the championship is very difficult, every opponent does his best against the top clubs," Hleb told Telecomasia.net.

Manchester City leads the EPL standings with 76 points after 32 games. Arsenal are in second place with 75 points, but they have played one more game than their opponents. Rounding out the top three is Newcastle with 65 points from 33 games.

On May 2nd at 22:00 GMT+3, Arsenal will host Chelsea at home in the 34th round of the English Championship.
