The English Premier League (EPL) deprived Liverpool club Everton ten tournament points for violation of the established rules of financial fair-play.
The Telegraph reported on October 25 that the Toffees could be stripped of points due to violations in the 2021/2022 season. An independent commission found that Everton exceeded the permissible limit of 105 million pounds, spending a sum of 124.5 million.
The decision taken by the league is effective immediately. Thus, Everton under the leadership of Sean Dyche, lose 10 points out of 14 after 12 played rounds of the season-2023/2024, and fall into the relegation zone with four points, in nineteenth place. Burnley, who are in last place, have the same number of points.
