Norwegian striker Erling Haaland of Manchester City has been recognized as the best striker in the world at the moment by an esteemed British website FourFourTwo.
Haaland has been with the Citizens since 2022 and has scored ten goals in eight matches this season. Manchester City currently sits in second place in the English Premier League standings.
In the rankings, French forward Kylian Mbappe takes second place, having joined Real Madrid this summer. Rounding out the top three is Englishman Harry Kane from Bayern Munich.
The top ten includes:
4. Lautaro Martinez (Inter Milan)
5. Victor Osimhen (Galatasaray)
6. Alexander Isak (Newcastle United)
7. Viktor Gyökeres (Sporting)
8. Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa)
9. Kai Havertz (Arsenal)
10. Julian Alvarez (Atletico Madrid)
Notably absent from the ranking is Robert Lewandowski, the top scorer from the first eight rounds of Spain's La Liga, who plays for Barcelona.
Recently, Haaland was named the top player of the 21st century based on his average goals per match and became the first player in Premier League history to score nine goals in the first four matches of a season.
