Remains of the legendary Argentine footballer Diego Maradona will be kept in a special mausoleum in Buenos Aires, according to the Argentine publication Clarin.
Sources indicate that construction is planned for the Puerto Madero area and is expected to take place in 2025. A court has already granted permission to transfer Maradona's remains from the Bella Vista cemetery in the San Miguel municipality to the future mausoleum, which will be located near the presidential palace.
Diego Maradona passed away on November 25, 2020, at the age of 60. The official cause of death for the 1986 World Cup champion was a heart attack. Eight medical personnel have been accused of involuntary manslaughter in connection with Maradona's death.
