Benfica and Argentina midfielder Angel Di Maria reacted to criticism of awarding the Ballon d'Or to Lionel Messi from German footballer Lothar Matthäus.
Recall, on Monday, October 30, the forward of Inter Miami received his eighth Ballon d'Or award at the Châtelet Theater in Paris.
Matthäus called the award undeserved and added that Manchester City's Norwegian striker Erling Haaland, who won the Gerd Muller prize for best forward last season, was more successful.
"Go cry somewhere else," Di Maria wrote on his social media page.
Haaland himself congratulated Messi on the victory, and Messi said that the Norwegian also deserved the Ballon d'Or.
