French national team coach Didier Deschamps has confirmed the appointment of PSG forward Kylian Mbappé as the new national team captain.
It should be recalled that the previous captain of Les Bleus, Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris ended his career in the national team at the age of 36 years.

Mbappé's first match in his new role will be on March 24, when the French will play in the opening game of European Championship qualifying against the Netherlands.
Mbappé is the 2018 World Cup champion as well as the vice-champion of the 2022 World Cup.
