The Costa Rican national team defeated the national team of Japan in the second round of the group stage match of the FIFA World Cup, which takes place in Qatar.
The meeting took place in Group E on November 27 and ended with a 1-0 win for Costa Rica. The only goal was scored in the 81st minute. Yeltsin Tejeda gave an assist.
The Costa Rican team got three points and moved up to third place in the group standings. Japan also scored three points and is in second place as it has the best goal difference.
Spain and Germany will meet in the other match of the second round in Group E. The game will take place on November 27, beginning at 22:00 GMT +3.
