According to Italian edition Corriere dello Sport, Juventus could be stripped of 12 points due to a violation of financial fair play. The penalty could be imposed as early as May 22.
The court may decide on the sanctions against the Bianconeri due to the long investigation into the Turin team's financial violations: the investigation has been going on for more than a year. In addition to the removal of points, the prosecutor's office in Italy is demanding a massive fine. The trial itself will continue at least till August 2023.
It should be recalled that in January 2023 Juve was stripped of 15 points for distributing false information about the financial state of the club, hindering auditing activities and market manipulation, but in April Juventus won back the points earned while the case was being considered in court.
After 35 matches played during the Serie A season 2022/2023, the Turin side led by Massimiliano Allegri are second in the standings with 69 points and a chance of qualifying for the Champions League next season. If the Bianconeri lose 12 points, they will drop to seventh place, which does not even allow them to qualify for the Conference League.
