Manchester City's Norwegian forward Erling Haaland was named the most expensive footballer in the world by the International Centre for Sports Studies CIES Football Observatory.
According to the CIES Football Observatory, the value of the 22-year-old footballer is €245.1 million. Real Madrid and Brazilian national team striker Vinicius Júnior, who is estimated at €196.3 million, occupies second place in that ranking. At the end of the top three is the forward of London's Arsenal and the English national team Bukayo Saka. According to a CIES study, he is worth €195.8m.
Haaland moved to Manchester City in the summer of 2022. He played 52 matches for the Citizens in all competitions and scored 52 goals. The Norwegian was top-scorer in the English league in the 2022/23 season, with 36 goals under his belt.
