English football clubs Chelsea and Manchester City are at risk of exiting the Premier League for financial reasons. The teams are suspected of breaching financial fair play regulations, as reported by The Sun.

It is noted that the London club, under Roman Abramovich's reign, may have made payments to agents that were not properly accounted for. An investigation into Chelsea will commence this summer.

In February 2023, Manchester City received 115 charges of financial fair play violations.

If the clubs are proven guilty, sanctions could be applied, including exclusion from the English Premier League. Recently, Nottingham Forest lost four points in the Premier League for financial rule violations.

In the current season, Manchester City is in third place in the league standings with 63 points from 28 matches. The capital's team is in 11th place, earning 39 points from 27 games.

Transfermarkt previously presented a team of the most expensive players in the Premier League.
