Borussia Dortmund's press service reacted on social media to the news of 36-year-old German defender Mats Hummels' retirement announcement.
On Friday, April 4, the player declared that he would retire at the end of the current season.

Borussia Dortmund
Hummels played for Borussia from 2008 to 2016, and then again from 2019 to 2024. He has made a total of 508 appearances, scored 38 goals, and provided 23 assists. With Borussia Dortmund, he won the German Championship and the domestic cup twice, and won the German Super Cup three times.
Since 2024, Hummels has been playing for Roma. This season, he has appeared in 18 matches for the capital club and scored one goal.
