Chelsea owner Todd Boehly shamed the team's players in the locker room after their match in the 31st round of the English Premier League against Brighton (1-2), noting that the players do not deserve the money spent on them.
The Telegraph reports that Boehly waited for head coach Frank Lampard to sum up the match and then addressed the team. He called Chelsea's game embarrassing, and said the club's management has spent more than 600 million euros to ensure the team wins.
Also, the owner of the London club said that the second quarterfinal match of the Champions League with Real Madrid could save the season and give the team's fans a reason to be proud.
The first match against the Madrid team in the Champions League ended in defeat for the Londoners (2-0). The return match will take place on April 18 at 22:00 GMT+3.
After 31 matchday of the EPL, Chelsea is in 11th place in the standings with 39 points.
