Honorary Bayern president Uli Hoeness has spoken out about the situation with the contract of 23-year-old left-back Alphonso Davies, which expires in the summer of 2025.
It was previously reported in the media that the Canadian player refused the Munich club's offer of €13-14 million a year as he wants to receive €20 million.
Hoeness told journalist Maximilian Koch:
We told him very clearly that we would let the contract expire if he did not renew it. He will not get any more money.
It was also reported that Real Madrid had shown interest in Davies, but it was later reported that los Blancos were no longer considering the Canadian. Manchester City and Chelsea were also reported to be interested in signing the player.
Last season Davies played in 42 games, scored three goals and made six assists. Transfermarkt estimates him at €50 million.
