Wojciech Szczęsny, the goalkeeper for Barcelona, has openly confessed that he smokes, but tries to keep it a secret, especially when children are around.
The 34-year-old shot-stopper made a comeback in October to join the famous club, having previously played for Juventus, Roma, and Arsenal. Szczęsny signed with Barcelona on October 2nd.
The Polish goalkeeper was quoted by journalist Fabrizio Romano as saying:
It's no one's business if I smoke. I don't think it affects my performance on the field. I don't smoke in front of kids, I don't give a bad example. But people take pictures of me smoking behind trees, where I can't even see them. I try to hide it and not show people that I smoke.
It has been reported that Szczęsny is set to make his debut for Barcelona in a match against Sevilla. In related news, Robert Lewandowski played a crucial role in the negotiations between Szczęsny and Barcelona.
