According to Sport.es, La Liga club Barcelona is actively searching for a new forward to replace 36-year-old Polish national team striker Robert Lewandowski.

The report indicates that the Blaugrana are interested in 25-year-old Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush from German club Eintracht Frankfurt, whom they see as a long-term replacement for Lewandowski.

Barcelona officials emphasize the versatility of the Egyptian player, which allows him to play in three positions in the attack line. However, the priority options for the Blaugrana are still Norwegian striker Erling Haaland from Manchester City and Swedish forward Viktor Gyökeres from Sporting.

This season, Marmoush has participated in 16 matches for Eintracht in all competitions, scoring 14 goals and providing ten assists. His current contract with the club runs until the summer of 2027, and according to Transfermarkt, his market value is estimated at €40 million.

In contrast, Lewandowski has competed in 17 matches across all tournaments, scoring 19 goals and making two assists. His contract with Barcelona is valid until the summer of 2026, and Transfermarkt reports his market value at €15 million.

Earlier, Barcelona mistakenly transferred €1 million to a fraudster who posed as Lewandowski's agent.

Additionally, the head coach of the Blaugrana, Hans-Dieter Flick, praised Lewandowski's performance, calling him the best striker of the last decade.
