Barcelona are planning to extend the contract with Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, but they want his salary to be reduced under the new agreement, as reported by journalist Aaron Dominguez on his social media.
According to the journalist, the 35-year-old forward earned €26 million in the current season, and in the next season, his salary is supposed to be €32 million, which is too much for the Spanish club.
In the current season, the Polish player scored 20 goals and provided nine assists in 43 matches in all competitions. The striker's current contract with the Catalan club runs until the end of June 2026. According to the Transfermarkt website, the forward's market value is €15 million.
Earlier, Lewandowski rejected a 100 million euro offer from a Saudi club, and also stated that he plans to play for three or four more years.
