La Liga club Barcelona is reportedly contemplating a transfer for central defender Jonathan Tah from German club Bayer, as stated by insider Florian Plettenberg on his social media page.
The Blaugranas aim to finalize the deal for the 28-year-old Tah before August 30. The preliminary negotiations between the clubs have already taken place. Earlier reports suggested that the center-back does not wish to extend his contract with Bayer, which is set to expire at the end of June 2025.
In the 2024/2025 season, Tah has already played in one match in the Bundesliga and the German Super Cup, but he did not register any scoring actions. According to Transfermarkt, the defender's market value is estimated at 30 million euros.
On May 24, journalist Alhaz Mutab reported that Bayer's head coach Javi Alonso expressed interest in signing forward Cristiano Ronaldo from Al-Nassr and the Portugal national team.
