According to the portal Sport.es, the management of FC Barcelona has made a decision regarding the future of 36-year-old Polish striker Robert Lewandowski.
The source reports that Barcelona officials have already informed the player that they are counting on him for the next season. It is also noted that Spanish defender Iñigo Martínez will remain at the club alongside Lewandowski.
Lewandowski has been with Barcelona since July 2022. In the current season, he has played in 18 matches across all competitions, scoring 20 goals and providing two assists. His contract with Barcelona is valid until the summer of 2026, and according to Transfermarkt, his market value stands at €15 million.
As of now, after 14 rounds in La Liga, Barcelona lead the table with 34 points, four points ahead of second-placed Real Madrid, although the latter has one game in hand.
Earlier, Barcelona's head coach Hans-Dieter Flick praised Lewandowski's performance, calling him the best striker of the last decade.
Additionally, it has been revealed that the 36-year-old Polish forward wishes to remain with Barcelona until the end of his career.
