Barcelona made an appeal to La Liga president Javier Tebas and demanded to make public statements on the sensational "Negreira case".
The media wrote that Barça transferred money totaling 1.4 million euros from 2016 to 2018 to DASNIL 95, a company owned by Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira.
Negreira was then vice president of the technical referee committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).
Barça has never paid the referees. This is not the first time that the president of La Liga has used the media weapons at his disposal to hurt Barcelona. Tebas must leave his post due to the abuse of power and also out of respect for the presidency of La Liga.
Barcelona's statement
On Monday, the publication La Vanguardia wrote that Tebas sent the documents on the "Negreira case" to the prosecutor's office. The documents showed the connections of former Blaugrana leaders with the refereeing corps. The documents have allegedly been ruled invalid.
Earlier, the Spanish prosecutor's office officially brought charges against Barcelona, which paid more than 7 million euros to the head of the Spanish referees' committee between 2001 and 2018.
