Argentine President Javier Milei has named Lionel Messi the greatest footballer in history and expressed hope to speak with the "most important Argentine in the world.
Messi is the greatest player of all time, he’s outrageous. There’s an article out there titled ‘Messi is impossible’ which outlines how he’s the best at every single aspect of the game. He’s a phenomenon. I’ve never had the chance to talk to him. I’d like to, it must be interesting. It would be a chance to speak to the most important Argentine in the world.

The politician added that he has spoken with the Pope and the Queen of the Netherlands but still hopes to have a conversation with Lionel Messi.
Last August, the Inter Miami forward won 44 trophies in his career, becoming the most decorated footballer in history. Shortly before that, Messi won the World Cup with the Argentine national team and was named the tournament's best player, and got his eighth Ballon d'Or.
Recently, Lionel Messi donated his eighth Ballon d'Or to the Barcelona museum. MLS officials have stated their plans to attract a star player close to Messi's level.
