Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti shared his views on the top contenders for the 2024 Ballon d’Or.
El Chiringuito quotes Ancelotti as saying:
It's going to be a tough fight between Vinicius and Bellingham. They are both exceptional players, and their performances on the biggest stages will be crucial in determining who emerges as the frontrunner for the Ballon d'Or. The Ballon d'Or has always been heavily influenced by how players perform in the Champions League and for their national teams.
Last year's award went to Inter Miami forward Lionel Messi of the Argentine national team.
The ceremony for the Ballon d’Or award for the best football player of the year will take place on October 30th at Le Chatelet Theatre in Paris.
In the current season, Vinicius has scored 23 goals and made 11 assists in 38 matches across all competitions.
Bellingham has played 41 matches, scoring 23 goals and providing 12 assists as part of Real Madrid.
Goal magazine recently updated the list of contenders for the Ballon d’Or award. Real Madrid's Croatian midfielder Luka Modric said that he would give the award to German midfielder Toni Kroos.
