Former Barcelona and PSG defender Dani Alves has been temporarily released from prison on rape charges, according to a press release from the Superior Court of Catalonia.
The 40-year-old player has been released on bail in the amount of 1 million euros until the final verdict.
Alves was sentenced to four and a half years in prison on rape charges. The defense of the footballer filed an appeal, and he will be released until the appeal is reviewed.
It is noted that Alves was stripped of his passport and is obliged to report to the court of Barcelona every week.
Earlier, the Brazilian footballer promised that he would remain in Spain after the temporary release. Lawyers of the victim insisted on a term of 12 years.
