Dani Alves, former Brazilian national team and Barcelona defender, shared his feelings about his life after being accused of rape and sentenced to 4.5 years in prison.
He was released on €1 million bail at the end of March until his sentence becomes final.
Alves told El Periodico:
Life in prison? Wherever I end up, I will survive. I adapt to everything because it's not the place that makes the person, it's the person who makes the place. Now I feel good and calm.
Recall, in January last year he was charged with raping a woman in Sutton nightclub in Barcelona. On January 20, he was arrested. Later, the Brazilian was sentenced to 4.5 years in prison and ordered to pay € 150 thousand to the victim as moral compensation. At the same time, the Spanish prosecutor's office planned to appeal the court's decision, believing that Alves should spend more time in prison.
In March, there was a rumor that the footballer committed suicide in prison, but this information was quickly refuted.
