Fans of the Munich football club Bayern Munich have canceled 36,000 ticket applications for the match against Shakhtar Donetsk in the sixth round of the Champions League, according to Bild.

This mass cancellation happened in response to a call from the fan group Südkurve München to boycott Champions League matches due to high ticket prices for club supporters.

Ticket prices for Bayern's matches are higher than those for games against other teams. For instance, tickets for the match against Shakhtar start at €105, whereas tickets for Shakhtar's home match against Atalanta can be purchased from €28, and matches against Young Boys start at €31. Standing tickets for Bayern fans start at €52, while those for the Atalanta match can be bought from €23, and €26 for the Young Boys game.

The match between the Ukrainian and German teams in the sixth round of the Champions League is set to take place on November 10. Bayern currently sit in 23rd place in the standings, having earned three points over three rounds.

On October 23, the German club suffered a heavy 1-4 defeat to Barcelona, marking a personal low: the team has lost three consecutive away matches in the UEFA Champions League.
