Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda, the new pilot for Oracle Red Bull Racing in Formula 1, spoke about his debut with the team at the Japanese Grand Prix.

I am learning and gaining more confidence in the car. I felt controlled towards the end of the race. If I had another qualifying, I'm sure it would have been different. I am happy considering the amount of time I had in the car. Fortunately, I have Max as my team-mate, [so] I can learn from so I will keep up what I'm doing and I'm excited for Bahrain.

It's worth noting that the 24-year-old driver began the 2025 season with the Italian team Racing Bulls but switched to the Austrian Red Bull team starting from the third stage, replacing New Zealander Liam Lawson. This decision was made due to Lawson's poor performance at the start of the current Formula 1 season.

On April 6, the main race of the Japan Grand Prix took place at the Suzuka International Circuit, where Tsunoda’s teammate, reigning world champion Max Verstappen, emerged victorious, completing 53 laps with a time of 1:22:06.983. Tsunoda finished only twelfth, trailing the leader by 58.401 seconds.

After three races in the current season, Tsunoda has earned three points, placing him in fourteenth position in the standings. The leader is British driver Lando Norris from McLaren, who has earned 62 points.
