Christian Horner, team principal of the Formula 1 team Red Bull, addressed the disappointing results for the Austrian team at the Chinese Grand Prix.

I think that first stint was where we gave away all the time. If you look at when Max came in for the pit stop, 18 seconds behind Oscar, and at the chequered flag, he was 16 seconds behind. So on the hard tyre, we were pretty competitive. We need to understand, maybe we overcompensated based on the degradation we saw yesterday. For sure, we need to find a little bit more pace.

He also noted that he had never seen the Dutch driver working so hard and that he is now collaborating more closely with the engineering team, enjoying the process.

At the Chinese Grand Prix, four-time Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen finished in fourth place, and Oscar Piastri from McLaren took victory.

The third round of the current season will be held from April 4 to 6 in Suzuka, Japan.

Additionally, following the Australian Grand Prix 2025, Max Verstappen's record streak of days spent in first place in the individual standings has come to an end.
