British McLaren driver Lando Norris commented on the collision with Red Bull's Max Verstappen at the end of the Austrian Grand Prix.
The collision occurred after Verstappen and Norris battled for the lead for several laps. In the end, both drivers pitted, with Verstappen dropping to fifth position and Norris running off the road. Verstappen was penalized with a ten-second penalty.
After the race, Verstappen stated that he knows better than anyone what he's doing behind the wheel of the car.
GP Blog quotes Norris as saying, citing Sky Sports:
If he says he did nothing wrong, then I'll lose a lot of respect for that. If he admits to being a bit stupid and running into me and just being a bit reckless in a way, then I'll have a small amount of respect for it.
Norris expressed disappointment in the outcome and revealed he expected a fair battle, which did not occur.
The winner of the Austrian Grand Prix was British Mercedes driver George Russell. He clinched his second career victory and secured the team's first win of the season.
The next Formula 1 race will be a home event for both Norris and Russell, taking place at the British Silverstone Circuit from July 5th to 7th.
