Lewis Hamilton continues to criticize F1's no-jewelry policy and has said that he is not going to back down from wearing his accessories. He has questioned the reasoning based on the fact that he has been wearing jewellery for the past 16 years and now all of a sudden, he is being asked to remove for "safety reasons". Thefore, Lewis has declined to remove his body piercing.
When they told me about the jewellery, they said safety is everything. And I said, 'Well, what's happened over the last 16 years? I've had jewellery for the last 16 years, so was safety not an issue back then?"
