British Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton experienced his worst qualifying session in Formula 1 in the past seven years during the US Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas in Austin.

On October 18, Hamilton finished with the 19th fastest time, ending his session in the first segment after two unsuccessful laps, the second of which was disqualified due to a track limits violation.

His previous worst performance dates back to the 2017 Brazilian Grand Prix, where he crashed in the first segment while exiting the pits, ultimately finishing 20th in the standings.

The pole position for the US Grand Prix was secured by McLaren driver Lando Norris, who outpaced sprint winner Max Verstappen.

Earlier, the seven-time Formula 1 champion Hamilton, 39, spoke about his current racing form.
