The International Automobile Federation(FIA) has reportedly picked up the matters regarding the investigation into the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix after allegations during the race that Max Verstappen was given “unfair advantage” during the safety car procedure. The FIA elected Emirate Mohammed Ben Sulayem as the president and ever since his arrival, the investigation has picked up speed. Apparently, Peter Bayer, who is the secretary general for motorsport in Geneva is going to lead the investigation. A spokesperson from FIA said that this was to safeguard the image of F1 as a transparent body and if we take into context some comments by F1 racers, the F1 has been under the pump for a while.
